Garāža is the Latvian word for garage. It is also the title of a new photography series, showing old garage doors in the run-down suburbs of Riga, Latvia. Some are made of metal, others of wood. Some of them seem beautiful, others vibrant or even dilapidated. Apart from these superficialities, all doors share the same shape and size. Nevertheless, each of them is unique and hides a different story we will never know.
PrintsMy photographs are available as worldwide limited editions of 50 pieces each. Every work is hand signed and comes with a certificate that proves the authenticity of the artwork. To make sure your favourite photograph will fit your home the size will be customized to your needs. This is why almost every piece is unique.
Through laser light the photographs are exposed onto genuine photographic paper with matt surface and mounted onto AluDibond, a 3 mm composite panel of aluminum and PVC. Due to the thin material and the spacers on the back it seems as if the artwork is hovering right in front of the wall.
